Alex Brodeur Kotuby is the owner of Danceworks, and has been an instructor since 2009. She began dancing at the age of three and has
trained at Danceworks since its inception in 1998. She is passionate about all styles of dance, including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and modern, and continues to study all
Lisa Carissimi founded Danceworks in 1998. She started dancing at the age of five in her hometown of Weirton, West Virginia. She studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, adagio, acrobat, and precision line dancing. Lisa graduated in 1993 from the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston Teacher Certification Program, and has taught dance classes to children of all ages since 1990.
Jennifer Mello Cotoia has danced since the age of seven, studying ballet and pointe at the Rhode Island Ballet Arts Academy for 7 years. She has studied ballet, pointe, jazz, and tap at Danceworks since 1999, and has been involved with teaching students since 1995. Jen graduated in May 2008 with a degree in Special Education, and is a 2004 graduate of the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston Teacher Certification Program. Jen is currently also a teacher in the Bristol-Warren School District.
Danielle Mello has grown up in the Danceworks studio taking classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and modern and has competed for many years. Danielle is currently a student at Bristol Community College and in her last year in the Dental Hygiene program.
Ally Reynolds has studied ballet and other forms of dance under the direction of Garance Nienhuis at the Ballet Center for many years. Ally is currently a sophomore at CCRI and working towards the Sonography Program.
Emily Prisco has been a student at Danceworks since the age of 12 and studied various forms of dance, including ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz and tap. Emily graduated from Rhode Island College in May 2018 with a degree in Elementary Education.
