COVID-19 Response for Health and Safety

Steps we are taking to keep the building sanitized for our dancers:

  • Hospital-grade sanitization fogger for floors, barres, mats so rooms are sanitized daily
  • Staff on duty to sanitize high traffic areas between and during classes
  • Contactless temperature checks for all staff, dancers and parents entering studio
  • Hand sanitizer stations set up throughout the studio
  • Face masks or face shields are required for dancers 3 years old and older as well as for teachers/staff (for the time-being and will be based on CDC guidelines and may change.  Read below for more information.)
  • Children under 3 years old are not required to wear masks but it is recommended, if tolerated. 

 Illness

  • Please do not come to the studio if you have a cough, fever or are sick.
  • Please do not come to the studio if you have tested positive, or have had COVID-like symptoms, within the past 14 days.
  • Please do not come to the studio if you had close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, or has had COVID-like symptoms, within the past 14 days.
  • We reserve the right to take temperatures of anyone entering the studio using non-contact, infrared thermometers.
  • Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 ℉, or above, will be asked to leave the studio.

Students

  • Students must come dressed and ready for class.
  • Students can bring their own water with a re-sealable lid or purchase water for $1.
  • Students are to leave all bags, coats, shoes, etc. in the waiting room and cubbies prior to class.

Face Coverings

  • Face coverings include any mask, shield or covering of both the nose and mouth.
  • This policy will be on a month to month basis and may change as CDC Guidelines change.
  • Students 3 years old and older must wear face coverings while entering and exiting the dance rooms, bathroom and anytime 6 feet of social distancing is not possible.
  • If 3 years old or older and unable to wear a mask or face shield then medical documentation should be provided.

Waiting Room / Studio

  • The waiting room / studio will be limited to students, faculty and staff.
  • 3 person maximum in the waiting room while students are in class.
  • All other parents / guardians, siblings and family members must wait outside of the waiting room / studio.
  • Parents entering the waiting room / studio must use a face mask and hand sanitizer.
  • All lost and found items will be disposed of at the end of each business day.

 Classes / Classrooms

  • Due to social dis-DANCING, individual class sizes will be smaller and available only on a first-come, first-served basis.  6-8 kid maximum, depending on the style of dance.
  • There will be a 5-10 min. break between each class for dismissal and sanitation.
  • Faculty must wear face shields or masks during class.

 Restroom

  • The restroom will be limited to students, faculty and staff.
  • Please make sure your dancer uses the restroom at home before they come to the studio to help with class momentum.

Cleaning

  • All frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned after every class.

Drop-Off

  • Students will be asked to wait in their car until called in by the teacher, at which time their temperature will be checked.
  • The sidewalk will be marked appropriately for lining up and entering the studio.
  • If you absolutely need to drop your child off, please note that should their temperature be higher than 100.4 ℉, you will be called and asked to pick up your child.
  • This policy will be on a month to month basis and may change as CDC Guidelines change.

Dismissal
A parent must be waiting outside for the child prior to class ending.

  • Students will be escorted, and dismissed, individually by their class.
  • Non-driving students must be released to a parent / guardian at their designated dismissal door.
  • Non-driving students will not be released to vehicles pulled up, or parked, along the sidewalk / fire lane.

Tuition / Payments

  • Tuition, payments and/or fees can be dropped off in the waiting room box, during regular business hours, or mailed to the studio: 62 Gooding Ave., Bristol, RI 02809
  • We accept cash, check, Venmo, or credit card. Make all checks payable to: Danceworks
  • All tuition, payments costs and/or fees will not be prorated.

Everyone entering Danceworks must agree with, and follow, our COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan which may change at any time based on CDC Guidelines and best practices. If you have any questions, please email Miss Alex at: alex@danceworks-ri.com

 

Unfortunately, we cannot reduce the risk of COVID-19 to zero and dancers are dancing at their own risk when they enter Danceworks.  We will do our part but if your dancer feels ill then we ask that they DO NOT come to the studio.
 
Please also have a conversation with your dancer prior to class about these new expectations.
